From time to time, we'll highlight some of the new services or products provided by our approved caterers and vendors so everyone can partake in the experience. For our first post, we had the pleasure of joining our friends at Barrelhouse for a tasting of their new catering menu. Executive Chef Justin Bright, General Manager Tara Christensen, and all the Barrelhouse staff couldn't have been more accommodating or informative. I'll highlight a few of the main points of our tasting below, but encourage everyone to check out Barrelhouse's new catering menu and contact Tara Christensen to receive a quote or more information.
Barrelhouse has a variety of salads, sandwiches, and buffet items to suit anyone's luncheon needs. Many of us coordinate boxed lunches, so we sampled the Heisman hero, consisting of three different meats, Swiss cheese, and a variety of tasty condiments. Having a semi-spicy flavor, this sandwich comes as a two or four-foot hero, or can be made in a boxed lunch. All boxed sandwiches are accompanied with Zapp's potato chips and can be made for any quantity of guests. All sandwiches on the main menu can also be served as boxed lunches.
For planners needing more substance in their luncheon menu, or those planning a dinner, Barrelhouse will provide main entrees in chafing dishes that can be stationed and served by their chefs or self-served by guests. We had the opportunity to sample the chicken roulade, which can be stuffed with any ingredients of your choice, and the penne with roasted vegetables, which provides a filling vegetarian option. While not necessarily meant to be a full meal, the macaroni and cheese at Barrelhouse, with its fontina cheese and toasted panko breadcrumbs, is certainly not to be missed as a side to any entree. Barrelhouse requests a minimum of ten guests for buffet items and can include chefs, servers, equipment, food labels, and tablecloths in all orders. While disposable cutlery and plates are customary, they can also provide china upon request.
From mini buffalo chicken wraps and tuna tartare, to vegan chicken wings, Barrelhouse can provide a variety of hors d'oeuvres for your next cocktail reception. Whether they are presented in chafing dishes or passed, Barrelhouse has many options to fit various budgets. We were particularly impressed by the presentation of each, including the mini beef fajitas secured by a wooden skewer, as well as the multiple vegetarian and vegan options.
We appreciated the opportunity to sample Barrelhouse's new catering menu and encourage you all to consider them for future events.
