Strategically Deliver Your Professional Message

Coordinated by the ECN Professional Development committee, this session invited Caroline Player, Corporate Relations Manager and career coach from the Scheller College of Business, onboard to speak to 39 Georgia Tech professionals about the importance of developing and promoting their professional brands.
By engaging in self-reflective exercises such as "Your 3 Word Self" and being asked to consider how their resume, social media and network conversations inform their branding, Player walked attendees through identifying their key strengths as individuals and articulating those strengths with confidence, consistency and intention to those around them.
Player's approach broke down into 4 steps:
- Branding defined, and identifying key personal strengths and accomplishments
- Understanding the construction of the brand continuum
- Building the brand by being vocal, visible, consistent and making strategic connections
- Spreading the word via social media, biography, resume and in person
Player also coached attendees on new approaches to their resume, biography and social media, and taught them how to write personal positioning statements and craft stories to better communicate their experiences and impact.
